PORT AND POLISH

I am currently rebuilding my Nc-29 head and have decided to port and Polish it while i'm here.

Any tips would be great.

with you there stimpy , its to easy to remove metal , but not to put it back !!! , especially if you dont know what your doing. Also replacement cylinder heads are not cheap

I'm a Toolmaker so Doing this sort of work is my trade i have all the equipment i just need a few pointers on how high of a finish i need on the inlet side and also the exhaust, i have herd that i should make it as smooth as posible on the exhaust side but still keep some grain work on the inlet side so it still tumbles my air fuel mixtur etc etc.

you've heard right (or at least , you've hard the same as me) inlet ports shouldnt be "polished" as the fuel will try to condense onto the port walls, and not flow correctly.. shouldn't be "bumpy" but should be rough.

its not that hard to do mild porting as long as you are careful, knife edge the dividers where the ports split to the two inlet valves, smooth out any transitions, match the inlet stubs/manifolds to the port. Exhaust ports rarely need anything doing to improve flow, but you can polish them up in an attempt to slow carbon build up.
