Fuel pump and / or fuel related issues?

Post by greywolfhunter »

I went for a cheeky blast on my gk73a today, just from one town to the next and hammered it for all it was worth, and then as i was coming back, the engine started to splutter and eventually cut out (about 50 meters from the town entrance) and i noticed when i tilted it to the left side it started, i know the fuel tap is on that side, but is there a fuel pump in the 400 models? i've been googling for about 10 mins and found little to nothing of gsxr fuel pumps...

anyone else has this / these problems?

No fuel pump, just gravity feed. Perhapse broken straw off the tap?

Have you tried turning it to the reserve position?

yea, it was on normal then reserve, i thought it could have been an issue but its not, seems to be feeding through okay, perhaps some other blockage?

If the straw in the filter breaks then there would not be any fuel left for the reserve. Pull the fuel tap out of the tank and check it's not cracked or broken

Does it have the "Pri" setting on yours?

If so, try that.

EDIT: sounds like you run out of fuel.
