Genuine Service Filters
I'm going to give my NC24 a service before getting it dynojetted- Geniune Oil/Air filters seem hard to come by apart from the likes of david silver but they charge a postage excess to NI which I dont like!
Would people recommend sticking to Genuine Honda filters or would aftermarket filters make any difference to performance etc?
I would like a K&N Air filter or performance air filter to help increase air flow but they dont seem to be available for NC24s..

Re: Genuine Service Filters
There are no K & N filters available because the standard filter passes some good airpf85 wrote:I'm going to give my NC24 a service before getting it dynojetted- Geniune Oil/Air filters seem hard to come by apart from the likes of david silver but they charge a postage excess to NI which I dont like!

Re: Genuine Service Filters
Stick with the genuine Honda stuff.
You can bodge the air-box but be warned, you'll need to spend some serious dyno time getting it running proprerly and isn't a job for the faint hearted.
You'll need to restrict the air-jets, uprate the main jets.
Really not worth it for the sake of a K&N Filter compared to stock as the standard filter is really good.
Only real application is for some type of ram-air system. :)

Re: Genuine Service Filters
OK I've rang my nearest Honda dealer and they have told me they will order the genuine parts in- reasonable price as well £25 for the air filter and £10 for oil filter..
What is the recommended oil to use? Would Silkoline be the best?

Re: Genuine Service Filters
Thats not a bad price at all.
I think it's about £9.50 for a genuine oil filter with removal tool (which helps a lot!)
SAE 10w40 semi-synth.
Silkolene Market this as Road Super 4
It's about £18.00 for 4 litres

Re: Genuine Service Filters
Yes I see Silkolene Super 4 for around £19 for 4 litres..
How much do you need? Would it take 4 litres or slightly less do you know off hand?

2.6 with filter
3.1 with rebuilt (dry) engine.
