nc24, how much are they worth?? **not selling**

Post by suzbug »

Hi all.
*******I am not wanting to sell, nor am i fishing for selling so mods, please do not remove********

i am basically wanting to know how much an 88 E reg vfr400 nc24 is worth.

I will explain, i bought my bike about 5 years ago with the intention of doing my direct access. long story short, im getting round to it now.
I am now sorting the bike out, tidying it up and putting it through the mot.

I am relacing the tyres, brakes, fork oil seals, chain and sprokets, new paint. (and maybe a nice stainless collector box!)
i know how much i have spent and how much i will be spending, but im just wondering if its actually worth it???

i have seen similar bikes on ebay, but thought i would ask you guys.

thanks
Chris

With an MOT I would guess about £700.

Couldn't have put it better myself - and I'm in exactly the same boat as gissmo to boot.

Thanks guys!
I paid 800 for it 5 years ago, so I suppose it owes me nothing.
The only thing is, I intend to use it as my daily commute so I'm hopping once the work is done it will do the job nicely.
My only worry is I'm 6 ft 2 and I'm worried I will be a bit cramped.
I'm keeping it so I guess it will be something I will have to get used to! Haha.
its just nice to know how much it is worth to justify to myself spending money on it, because I know these bikes can be a labour of love, but I'm not ridding it yet so apart from the lovely sound (i have a race can) and the looks as I love the single swing arm I not really have the same enthusiasm as you guys have to justify a money sponge yet.. hopefully I will when I get it on the road!
Thanks for your opinions guys

Honestly i'd sell it. For £700 i'd want it to be really good.

Im 6ft 2 and i fit on it fine (im to tall for a zzr600!!) so you will be ok.
Im in the same situation regarding how much to spend on the bike, or to sell and upgrade to a newer bigger machine.
I am getting a stainless collector and i know i wont get the money back but it needs it so have no choice..

But when you get it on the road you will forgett the cost and just enjoy the brilliant handling ;)

I don't think they handle as well as the 30 / 35 / zxr but they turn a lot quicker due to the 16 / 18"
