brake resovoir hose.

recently put new ss braided goodridge hoses in, and in the process i replaced the original hoses from the resovoir and master cylinders with ariete 8mm clear fuel hoses. So i could see any bubbles etc. But tonight i noticed what appears to be brake fluid seaping through. What clear hoses can i use that wont have this problem? thanks rick

This is what I use. Its HRC and I think you can buy it at a Honda dealer or Tyga/Jap4 can supply you a kit.

good find alex but ideally i want to keep the original resovoir, so therefore would need alot more hose tbh,

i would have thought the Ariete fuel hose that i have would be upto the job but obviously not, ive had no joy with hoses this year i tell you.

Go to Pirtek of Wolverhampton....
I have used them for many things (cars/bikes/fuel/brake lines), just take the old pipe with you and they will use any pipe and put any fittings you want on either end.

i never thought of them, ive used them in the passed for airlines on trucks thanks for the reminder cheers

just need 8mm internal Dia clear hose dont need any fancys clips or owt just nice hose

As brake fluid is Hygroscopic, you'll find most non-standard hoses will attract moisture through the hosing (what your experiencing now), Hence why a lot of OEM hosing is braided with either SS or fabric.

i never knew thats why they were braided, so SS coated PTFE would be suitable for the jobby?

i did a google and i found on some car website that said brake fluid eats /disolves nitrile and fuel hoses are crap for brake hoses, so i guess the clear option is out of the window i just like the idea of seeing my juices so i know there are no bubbles!

I've learnt that it's best not to muck around when it comes to brake hoses. Get the proper stuff.

Hell, even the HRC green brake tube is a bit suspicious when it comes to oxygen (water!) transfer in my opinion. Honda made it for racebikes on which you can bet that they change their brake fluid for every race. Not really for road applications, plenty use it it for this but far and away not the best hose to use.

Forget air bubbles, bleed them properly and you won't have a worry.
