2003-2005 R6 regs are the business.
This happened to my cdi just a couple of weeks ago from a dodgy honda reg/rec (a late model finned version) overcharging the system:

The engine died, left me stranded to watch smoke coming out from under the seat unit....

sorry to thread jack but are they underneath the seat panel on the left hand side just behind you bum?
and do they get VERY VERY Hot? if so is that normal?
