Aluminium clutch plates
Doing a major wieght loss program for the RVF and I seem to remember some talk about aluminium clutch plates instead of steel originals. Anyone know where to find some? Anyone have any experience with them?

I have mentioned them here some time ago, but I think Finn Sander tried to get a few made at hyperplates (durbahn uses them) but the idea died..
I wouldn't do it, because of negative gyro effect on handling, since whatever you remove from the backwards rotating clutch, in essence you put on the forwards rotating components (crank, wheels and half the gearbox).
But you do get some benefits; lower overall weight (but right in the CoG), a bit less backtorque/inertia under braking and easier/slicker gearshifts.

slight update,
I found out that hyperplates no longer are trading, so anyone wishing for alloy clutch plates must find some one offs.
How about converting a 450cc motocross slipperclutch to be run on a NC, you can titanium plates for some of the aftermarked clutches??? I mean torque-wise the crosser should equal or beat even a tuned 400, so wear and tear should be similar. If outer diameter and clutch height are just vaguely similar it should be possible..
