Clutches...
Gonna check the clutch on my NC30. Had probs with juddery take off in 1st for a while so gonna check every thing's within tolerance and not warped/burnt out etc. I read somewhere (probably on here) that you can improve the clutch by adding more of the diaphragm/plate springs or whatever they are? is this true and where do I get em? Ta!

Re: Clutches...
Adding more diaphragm springs will make your clutch heavier, and may worsen that 'judder' as the friction plates comes together too suddenly. By 'judder' you mean the same effect you get in a car when not enough revs for a particular gear?
The clutch would certainly slip less. But like you said check your friction plates & plain plates first for sign of wear, look for signs of overheating on the plain plates&warping and sufficient friction material on the friction plates..
Also if the clutch cable adjuster is adjusted too close to the engine, ie. your clutch is very light, the clutch wont disengage properly and will drag badly.

Re: Clutches...
watch my vid on clutch replacement, i think i talk about the clutch basket and filing it if there are indentation it it, not too much thought as it can make the clutch noisy, apparently
