Questions about NC23 600RR FAO LloydieCBR and Woodzy
Hi chaps,
I have a few questions for ya about the NC23-600RR...
Firstly does the nc23 exhaust fit the 600 motor? unlikely but the next exhaust question is based on the 600 exhaust.
Does the 600 exhaust need any modifications so that it attaches to the bike where the 23 exhaust does?
What year 600 engine is the best for this project? ( i remember someone saying that a particular year has an extra 10 bhp)
Wiring loom, now i know the 23 loom cannot be used for this so what modifications to the 600 loom do i have to do? (does it need shortening / lengthening ect)
Can i use the 23 sprocket cover on the 600 motor? if not how do i get the speedo working?
What about the 600 rev counter? is that useable?
Im sure that there will be more questions to come at some point but right now its research and planning time
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: Questions about NC23 600RR FAO LloydieCBR and Woodzy
Hello, had any thoughts about making me an offer??
1. The nc23 standard exhaust will not fit. You will need to find yourself a nc23 exhaust that has detachable headers. It needs to have a 4 into 4 section at the bottom where they meet so you can allign to fit the new engine and keep them within the fairing.
2. The 1990 FL engine is recommended as it makes the most power.. Have 2 spare.. one needs the front of the engine sorting where the studs have snapped and cracked alloy and the other needs a full rebuild as it is spewing out a bit of blue smoke..
3. You will need the 600 loom including the ignition and switch gear. It is easier to think of reframing a 600fl. If you can try and get a 600 fuel pump and relay as I am using the 400 one and its slightly too fast so cuts out and back in all of the time.. No issues with running though..
4. The sprocket cover from the 23 fits no problem.
5. You will need to use the 600 rev counter.. check out my build thread, it has pictures of this being done..http://www.honda-forums.com/index.php?t ... 41&start=0&
I checked where you are on the greybike map.. I could arrange for it all to be sent for a good price.. My garage needs a good clean out
The NC23 part built has only had 2 owners and has all previous mot's.

if you are making look like a sleeper ie with the nc23 fairings you will need headers that woodzys said or if you can welid you can modifiy stock headers .
but if your going to do a streetfighter or put cbr600rr fairings on you can fit stock 600 headers
.
pc23 engine carbs cdi loom = 10bhp more 86-90 rear wheel bhp with race pipes and stage 2 jets
you can also read mine should tell you all you need to know

Re: Questions about NC23 600RR FAO LloydieCBR and Woodzy
thanks guys,
@ Lloydie im not sure if you've seen a pic of my old 23 but i want it to look like that so yeah a sleeper so to speak
@ Woodzy im giving the whole lot some thought. atm i've not got the funds available (hence looking on ebay for a cheap frame... which turned out nothing thus far
)
Im thinking around the region of £250 tbh, would offer more but i've gotta save for my driving lessons / test.. you would have to wait a couple of months though..
and about the fairings i know they're atleast an extra £100 but what condition are they in? paint scheme ect?
Cheers guys,
Adam.
