NC30 engine noise.
Just taken my NC for a long ride, and ive noticed an engine noise ive not heard before. Its like a clicking sound coming from ( i think) the left side of the engine. It speeds up and slows down with the revs, i might be nothing but i havent heard it on any of my other bikes before!
anyone any ideas??

Something loose? Is this your newly fettled one?
Exhausts need nipping up?
do you reckon it could be internal? Have you done the clearances recently? clicking of clacking? Any different when cold or hot?

Re: NC30 engine noise.
If its a high pitched metallic, valve clicking sort of sound, its probably the valve gear train, lots of people have noticed this on the nc, Mine does it when warm, and its most noticeable at idle...

Have you done the valves? Mine ticks a bit but I run slack clearances so would expect it to slap a bit!

Re: NC30 engine noise.
Mine have always rattled like a bitch when they get hot (even an expertly rebuilt engine).
I just don't listen to it anymore...

NC30s don't have camchains....they have gear driven cams which is the lovely whine you hear.

Howzt Guys
Iv also experienced this problem before,it started all of a sudden while riding on 1st Nc30
It turned out to be main bearing,it eventually lost alot of power but it all happenend very slowy over a few days,
turned out the idiots that put in the engine for me didn put enough oil in... maybe you should check if you have enough oil.
