nothing else sprung to mind, it really sounds like fuelling issues to me. so if the vaccum hose is connected and not kinked, fuel is getting to the carbs it has to be inside our little friends!
i know he wants to get her going as soon as so one i can get the wedding over and done with i will try to get round and get them off for him. so he can see how it is done!

5 Miniutes in and it's not looking good, where i should have a desellarator cable i have a long nut.

I'm guessing this isn't helping and needs replacing?
Hmmm....maybe i did buy it off a cowboy

Looks like it's just worked loose and migrated from the cable bracket on the carbs
That's no big deal. The carbs and throttle tube will happily run on just the accelerator cable
It probably wouldn't help with it floating around down there though!
Get in there!

That deccelerater cable looks about right. It might be missing a nut and just needs putting back into its bracket under the accelerator cable

theres no cable there mate. It's just a 10mm bolt that's screwed into where the cable should go.Hadies wrote:That deccelerater cable looks about right. It might be missing a nut and just needs putting back into its bracket under the accelerator cable
Got the cabs of taken off the float bowls, one was full of crud. Cleaned em all up . Left the pilot and main jets to soak in some webs while i ate me sandwhichs .
My jets are as followed;
2 of the carbs have 115 main jets & the other two have 118 jets
All 4 carbs have a 35 piliot
Does that sound about right?
TBH a couple of the jets could do with replacing as who ever opened them up before has been ham fisted and there a coule of chips mising in the grove for the screwdriver.
cheers
Russ
E2A just answered my own question by reading Data Racers sticky. Guess i'm gonna be needing some 120 main jets as a i have an after market exhaust?

Nope - stick with 115 in your front and 118 in the rear. Also, take the tubes that they screw into out - they are full of holes, 4 in front, 5 in back - probably full of crap too.
Good arrows...it is not too hard eh? Wait til you try to get them back on ther engine!!

line up the front ones - make sure they are going to go in square and thenlean on them - they'll go int a bit, then make sure you can see the rear ones are also straight..and if required use a thin screwdriver to stop the lip being pulled down.
Once all this is in order - push on them!
It is a knack..you'll get it.
If you cannot get them on in the next 15 minutes, then take the rubbers off and put them in hot water to soften them up and then also use some red rubber grease, if you have some, to lube them up before you put them on.
