Why would anyone do it? Many a “streetfightered” bike is a byword for “thrown it down the road and don’t have the wherewithal, patience, talent or good grace to put it back as the maker intended”.

So it’s off with the remainder of the mangled fairings and lights, out with the angle grinder, and bye-bye to any kind of taste or sense. What meagre investment is thrown at their new “project” is spunked up the wall on insulting and poorly fitted baubles in inverse proportion to ensuring the basics are addressed – usually being a half-decent service and a good look at the adverse impact on the poor bike from the prior machine-meets-road-surface/fence/old-lady/what-you-will debacle which was the catalyst for this particular travesty on two-wheels.

Deeply, DEEPLY unpleasant.

Ah, that’s better……and rocks back and forth, hugging himself, seeking his happy place…..
