NC23 not starting
please help!
i have an nc23 with cosmetic damage that i'd stripped down and "fixed up". Bike stood for about 16 months so when i put it back together it took a bit of "easy start" spray to get it going. i then leant it to someone and it worked perfectly for him for 3 months. i've ridden it a couple of time since getting it back and no problems. then suddenly last week, after standing for 2 weeks it wouldn't start.
it's not the battery - it tried and tried to start before the battery started fading and so i've charged the battery again.
it's not fuel - we've checked and the pump works fine
the only "clue" is that it has very weak spark - across all 4.
i've been told it's most probably the CDI but that i must first check the "reading on the pickups"... i have no clue what this last thing is and the person that info came from couldn't say what the reading should be on the cbr400 nc23.
ANY help would be much appreciated

Re: NC23 not starting
Why are you sure it is ont the battery?
What voltage does it have when fully charged?
What does it have when running at 5000 revs?
Welcome to the site...you'll get it sorted on here

Re: NC23 not starting
i've had 2 people who do all their own vehicle maintenance have a look and they both say the battery is fine.
thanks for the welcome. i used to be on here, then didn't log on since about 2 months after i'd stripped the bike down (it made me more frustrated at the mammoth task of trying to remove 8 layers of poorly-done paintwork) so i forgot all my log on details - had to reregister now! but yes, with this problem i came straight here because i know you lot will help :-)

Re: NC23 not starting
I hear you... but knowing that it has a standing charge of 13V or so would be worth knowing..and also whether it is being charged when the bike is running.
If you get spark then the CDI is right - got to be IMO. Are the plugs in good condition?
They may be knackered...
