*HELP* on streetfighter conversion (CBR400)

Post by jonny85 »

Hi everyone, a few weeks back i crashed with my first bike, a CBR400 NC23, although it suffered no major damages apart from a grated crankcase and broken fairings and some other scratches on the exhaust and broken brackets, I decided to convert it to a streetfighter.

Since I'm quite new and dont really have much place to work on or jacks etc to work on my bike, I still should manage to do some basic work

and mainly i need some guidance as to what parts to get, mainly for what needs changing for a better look are the front headlamp/clocks/indicators

handlebars im guessing etc

now I know a streetfighter can be modified anyway you want, but id like some opinions and guidance, anyone who can suggest what to buy etc

if anyone could offer some guidance as to which parts (from which bikes) i can buy which wouldnt interfere with handling etc would be great!

Thanks,
Jonathan

thing is since its a 1988 model I wanted to modernize it a bit not that i dont like the 600 or anything but I also like the way lets say the hornet looks, I personally would want to convert it cause i want it naked.

and Re: the 600 fairing, how would they fit? I mean arent they diferent sizes and mounts? plus would i have to change the headlamps too?

I'm still undecided yet thats why I want to see what parts I can use for converting to a decent budget streetfighter before buying fairings

oh dear...

Sorry i'm just not a fan. That NC29 looks god awful, the 23 isn't as bad but it's still awful.

You can buy cheap chinky panels, fully sprayed and stickered up off scrubber bay for 300 notes deliverd.
Or tyga panels, or as said you could get some 600rr fiairings.

I am sort of of the opposite opinion, I don't think the designers had in mind for either bikes to be naked at all, so obviously had no need to make either look aesthetically pleasing without fairings, however, the 29s look a bit better I think, because the 23 has the most boring looking engine with nothing interesting going on without panels to hide it.

The small belly pan however on the blue 23 does improve this somewhat though.

Anyway, each to their own, but like has been said, you can get fairings for not to much money which is the route I would always take personally

(Sorry that my reply helps and contributes in know useful way at all!)

The 2 bikes that parus has posted pictures of in this thread.

That NC29 is fooking awful!!!

The NC23 dosn't look half bad if im honest but i'd still have it fully faired.

BTW mate, i don't think they are parus's bikes......
