Calipers for RVF forks? AP Brembo ???

Post by Tim400GB »

The issue is I am building my front end with RVF forks and am looking for some calipers to use.
Have looked around and AP only supply radial mount calipers and not conventional mount ones, Brembo's seem to have the same problem.
There is a Brembo kit available for the RC45 but that is £800, ouch!, and i would still have to get some adaptor plates made for the calipers.

I'd rather not put the standard RVF calipers on. Anybody have any suggestions as what to use, maybe from another bike, that would be a bit special?
Or has someone got some AP's that they are willing to sell?

Tim

Why not go for gold SP1 or silver anniversary Fireblade ones? They are all bolt-on with no mods, so even if you can find AP/Brembo's for those forks, they will fit the RVF ones.

Ah did not know that, SP1 calipers bolt straight to RVF forks. Is there a specific year SP1 the calipers have to be?

I'd rather not go down the Harrison billet route, they dont give quite the 'look' i want.
Want to keep the bike standard looking at a glance but then you will see all the nice bits on closer inspection if that makes any sense.

ul probably not be able to get fancy ap/brembo etc calipers new anymore as their generally 90's superbike spec calipers, especially not form someone like demontweaks, try contacting ap see if they have any new for old stock

the sp calipers are identical to cbr600rr 03-04 and some blades (late 900 era's I think), iv got the silver blade ones but dont know what year they are.

try asking on pb forum, thiers so many bikes on their with similar spec brakes so someone must know were they can be had from
