Should I bother fitting one (with matching linkage)?

The only advantage of a 17" rear is the better tyre choices available. There are some cracking road tyres available for the 18", but better race tyre choice in 17".

IMO the 18" looks far better.... I would fit one to an RVf if I owned one.

yes yes yes, someone on the same train of thought as me. for a road bike i never understood why anyone would want to bother as you can get good tyres for the 18". that said if buying part worn track stuff yes its easier to find 17" but new road tyres are plentifull.
same for the looks, the 18" rear suits the bike, and fill the space nicely.

Sounds like the consensus is 'get the jackup link but don't bother with a 17' (bike is going to be mostly (if not all) used on the road.

Cheers all
