GK73A carb o-rings & standard settings

Post by VA »

Can someone tell me how many o-rings are in each carb,I've looked at the Tony Sleep link but those are 76A and obviously different.I can see 4 obvious ones but is there a fifth somewhere, I don't have one on the main jet either....normal??

Also how many turns out on the pilot screw?

Many Thanks.....help much appreciated

Theres 5 o'rings and the float is 14.6mm from the bowl gasket. I sell a set of o'rings if you need them.

Thanks for the reply, but before I replace 'em I would to check all of 'em, the 4 I can see are float perch x 2, pilot screw x1 and under the top cap x1....can you tell me where the other 1 is.

I'm currently putting it back on the road after being garaged for quite some time, it starts and idles ok but stumbles just as I open the throttle but then revs ok after that.....the pilot screws are 3 turns out and any other setting just wont work, any opinion on this.

It's still not roadworthy yet so I can't fully test the set up.

Edit:- OK,found the 5th one, can anyone give me the standard settings for needle clip position & pilot screw turns out, I've had a fiddle and the only way I can get it run/rev (stationary) is needle clip at top position (lean or rich?) and 3 turns out for pilot screw (also lean or rich?)......does that sound strange to anyone.

Please reply someone.

The pilot screw is 1.5 turns out and the needles are factory set at 3rd groove from top.
Top groove is weakest as needle is lowered into the jet below and the more turns out you go on the pilot screw the richer the idle will be.
Sounds like you got dirt in the carbs and they need a good clean, plus remember if the o'rings are bad you can fiddle all day and it will make little difference.
Take a look at tony sleeps artical on the gsxr carbs for a little more help.
