SP1 front brakes on an NC30 - need some help please.
Right, ive got a nice pair of SP1 front calipers, ive also got an SV650S nissin front master cylinder & i have a pair of Rick Oliver caliper adaptors all for my NC30.
The only thing i need now is a pair of braided hoses to put it all together, the master cylinder is basically the same as the orginal NC30 item, its just alot newer.
Can i use a pair of race Goodridge SP1 lines (so just 2 lines, no splitter) or do i need something 1-off???
I was hoping that the angle of the ends of the SP1 hoses would be correct, as i am using SP1 calipers & the master cylinder fitment should be about the same but im only guessing.
Has anyone else done this conversion (im sure they have) & has anyone got any tips or advise.
Thank-you.

In a short answer - yes, SP1 lines will be bob on.#
I'd worry about the SV650 m/c though - they have shitty sliding calipers and so I assume they don't flow a lot of fluid?
It is a 1/2 inch isn't it? the SP1 is a 5/8

whichever master cylinder you use, you will want a longer banjo bolt for twin pipes.

Hello - thanks for the info.
Im not sure what size the SV650 master cylinder is, to be honest, i havent looked.
It was with a pile of bits i got & as it looked like new, i kept it.
I was told to fit an early R1 master cylinder but i never got around to getting hold of 1.
I havent fitted any of the bits yet, i like to have everything before i pull anything apart.
@ least now i can get the Goodridges.
So what master cylinder is going to do the job best???
I would prefer to use something readily available & idealy something nissin.
Is it worth rebuilding an NC30 item or is it better to get somethnig else???
Cheers.

best nissin one is the one form either Sp1, late 90's blade, CBR 2003 rr and a CBR6 FX/FY
Any 5/8s Nissin is right for the calipers..

Hello again.
Ok, sounds good - at least i know where i am now.
i have an eye on a CBR-RRT master cylinder, looks like that will do the job.
Cheers for the help.

Hello mate. yeah, i wanted to avoid that - just simply because im not an expert in brake hoses & i would prefer not to get that bit wrong.
If the SP1 Goodridges are going to work, then im more than happy.
Thanks for the info though, im going to rebuild & put my 82' YZ250-J on the road with a day-time MOT.
Im planning putting a later front end on it with a front disc brake, possibly from another bike because of the yolks, so a custom hose may be required.
Cheers.
