Where can i find...
Ok, having looked around a lot, i'm struggling to find some stuff.
Firstly, clutch bolts, it seems robinson foundry want 1.47 for a friggin bolt, one!
Second, brake pistons, could get them from the US for $73 but may get stung on postage and customs, the cheapest i can get them here is like 80quid per caliper!!! Also, does anyone know if they should be made from a certain metal, 'cause i've got a friend thats pretty handy with a lathe...
Any suggestions on brake pads for a track bike, my heads telling me ebc hh sintered whatevers but my pocket is saying a tenner a set is fine
Thanks in advanced
matt

Hi Matt,
Any hi tensile bolt of the same size will do, id take them to ya local fastener suppliers and get them to match up, they may even give you them for free as you only want a few. Think the pistons are the same as rgv (not 100%) a guy sells em on ebay at £20 for two pistons, wemoto sells them at £20 for one piston + seals or get ya mate to knock some up from stainless and you know regarding the pads you get wot ya pay for.

Will check out the RGV route, but have two bikes and both probably need doing, so gets a bit pricey. Thanks for the tips, get paid tomorrow...broke by sunday

Hi Matt,
I agree about the pads. I bought a GK76a with a set of the "Gold" pads fitted from ebay and used them on the track. They were absolutely useless at dissipating the heat and ended up boiling the fluid. They gave no consistency either and one attempt at braking had me in the gravel at Druids at Brands Hatch (stayed upright though). Took the pads out at the end of the day and they had no friction at all to them due to the material fusing together and forming a perfectly smooth surface. Renewed the fluid and changed the pads to EBC double H sintered and now the thing stops fantastically (althought the 6 pot calipers do help!) with no fade or boiling.

After doing a bit of 'googling' RGV250 Pistons come in 3 different sizes depending on Model/Year, I do believe some are interchangable, theres a guy on ebay who has various Stainless Pistons for various bikes, may be worth measuring yours and drop him a message.
Heres a link to his items..
