400GB hit's Europe 2017
Ok guys, there is a possibility of doing a low numbered run to europe next year.
I am thinking either channel tunnel to france and head south, or we get the boat to Santander - and take a week to ride back.
Couple of days in northern spain before heading into france and avoiding motorways where possible heading back towards home - the scenic route.
If you have never ridden in europe - then do it. Spain is just incredible, its a tried and tested path for a few of us, and i promise you some roads like you have never seen before and loads of fun.
I don't do camping so it would be hotels every night.
Travel light, waterproofs in case, and a change of clothes and enough cash to complete the trip.
No planned route, no agenda, no ego's - just a safe ride enjoying the scenery and taking in some spectacular roads outside of shite britain.

Re: 400GB hit's Europe 2017
just to add, i have done this on my RVF a few years ago and it was without doubt the best bike i have toured on.
It was comfier, better on fuel, and just better than both the CBR600RR5 and the 916 i toured on previously.
For those who have always fancied doing something like this but never actually taken the plunge - then this is for you.
Its not a race or everyone riding like a nob, you will need a week off work, and once the boats paid for factor in around 800 euro's for fuel, hotels and food - maybe a bit more.

Where do I sign. Could do with taking the UK out for a spin next year.

Sounds like fun - I'll be up for this probably on my CB-1. Will need to check on race dates though.

Paul, still lurking and hoping a few of the seasoned foreign riders chip in when events turn up!
We've had a good two years past for euro trips, let me highlight the Bol'dor in September followed by the Riviera and Italy. Stunning and warm. Likewise Wheels and Waves in Biarritz is only two hours from Santander and usually early June. Hipster event following the cafe racer fashion but still a good event as a destination.
Whichever way i'll join you. There is also the option of a late evening channel tunnel and blast the auto routes overnight and be in Aix for morning. Not as horrific as it sounds and saves wasting a few days...

Re: 400GB hit's Europe 2017
This could be a great ride out chaps either just us lot on what ever - or part of the bigger portsmouth to porto 2 ride !!
As always i need little encouragement for a ride abroad. depending on the scale of it depends on the bike used.
Lets all run some ideas of who would like to go where (assuming we do something as our own collective) and which dates work for most.
