I dug out one of the damaged side panels and almost all of the broken pieces are there so I'm going to give it a go. Any particular reason why you chose black rather than white or clear?
Foxy, no reason at all. As the repairs were all going to be painted over it didn’t matter to me what colour they were

Yes ^^^all that, except I take the mould from the outside of the fairing or make the repair from inside.

I taped the fairing down so I dont need to hold it

This gives a cleaner finish so less sanding

I painted the tank at the same time but had it lacquered by a spray shop

Yup, sure looks good. Makes sense to take the mould from the outside. I've ordered the Plastex, so that should keep me busy on Christmas day now that Boris has scuppered my traditional morning walk to a country pub for a pint or two.

Do you mean the colour of the plastex? If so I was told black is stronger but the white looks better cosmetically (This was a ten years ago.) There wasn't a clear one when i did mine and just looking on the plastex site they now have all the colours of the rainbow.

For some reason I have never managed to get the RED powder... however I have used the clear, white, black & blue on my repairs...
