It's an interesting question one I've asked myself a lot over the years,

My first race bike (an NC23) I purchased off a mate converted it into a race bike, then a few years later I moved on to an NC29 took the trick bits off the 23 broke the rest for spares and had the frame and swing arm hanging in my workshop for 10 + years

Then the same friend comes to me and says he wants to buy the NC23 road bike I had at the time and the frame swingarm and V5 for his old bike do a frame change and have his old bike back,

I understand wanting to replicate an old bike (especially one with sentimental value) but I have to ask myself is it really the same bike.......

I thought filming in the conservatory would be a really good idea - warm, plenty of light and easy to nip back indoors to put the kettle on / go to the loo (those two might be related!) but no, apparently not...
The recent stormy weekends made it impossible to film due to the noise of the rain on the polycarbonate roof so I had an enforced couple of weekends off to play with the other bikes. Once I got back in the conservatory, my camera decide to start playing up and I ended up with a load of corrupted footage :( . I bit the bullet and bought myself a 2nd hand Canon D600 to replace the Chinese Ebay special, recorded some more footage and discovered all 3 of my memory cards were on their arse. One trip to Argos and a £12 memory card later and I'm back in business - that was a bit of an expensive lesson.....

Anyway here is the link to the latest instalment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8salKBc-bk

I can't believe I forgot to update this thread and here I am at the final episode!
The bike is as finished as it's going to get for the time being but there's an explanation in video.
This series was really aimed at the younger people on the Facebook groups and sort of questions they regularly ask so I totally accept this may have been a painful watch for you guys - hopefully the next project will be a bit more interesting and no I'm not going to film it in the conservatory this time......

In no way was/is it painful to watch. It's good to watch people's builds on their bikes.
I remember a lad from Preston doing a build thread in his front room so a conservatory is fine
