The Metal Rescue works really well. It took the rust and zinc off the bolts.Image

After getting the front wheel back in It was time to start her up. Kicked over 1st go but climbed straight to 6k. Hit the kill switch then had a prod around.
Notice a bit of slack in the throttle cable that wasnt there when I pulled the carbs off.
So tightened it up and kick it over. Straight to 6k again.
Wind idle screw right off still didn't help. Started to back the butterfly adjusting screws out still nothing.
Had a closer look and found the lower bolt on cylinder two's manifold rubber had move around and was acting as the throttle stop.
So after un syncing the carbs by fucking around with all the butterfly screws ive now had to go out and by a carburetor synchronizing gauge set. Looks like ive got a job for the weekend. Remember ppl if it doesn't look right while putting it back together then it probably isn't... ImageImage

Nice work sorting the problem, the silver lining is that you've now sync'd the carbs. Wait until you hit around 10k and listen to the howl up to 14.5k :)

So Ive moved to the bottom end of Oz and taken the chance to get the old girl on club rego. join the VJMC and paid my AUD$150 for 12 months vintage rego. - have been on a few rides in the last 12 months exploring the island, Its been great to put some kms on the 2TK. I post a dyno vid to the FB group but though id update here also as its been forever since Ive logged-in. - prod to say the 2tk made 59.12rwhp on the dyno with DIC alloy slip on, stock air filter and Factory-Pro 5deg ignition advance kit. Would love to crack into the mid 60's without pulling engine apart.

Has anyone used the Factory-Pro Superflare Velocity stacks? Do they pull much power on a stock engine?

Welcome back, glad you’ve still kept hold of the bike and the impressive rwhp is ace 👍
