Re: My 1993 NC30 progress and upgrades
The new reg rec from eBay tested and is good. Fitted it and took the bike out.
It's still not right.
I've been reading the manual and I'm going to have the carbs off and in bits for a good clean. I have delayed throttle response, poor tick over and really poor running with throttle 1/4 to fully open.
Oh And the Rev counter isn't reading correctly. But I'll look in to that at a later date.

Coming back to the Rev counter issue.
I have checked all the relevant connections and gave the a bit of a Clean. Took the battery off and charged it all day and it now seems to be reading correctly.
The bike seem to be running a lot better as well. (The air box is off) all 4 diaphragm seem to be also move freely and return. The battery is at 13.5 volts and 14.8 volts when running.

Re: My 1993 NC30 progress and upgrades
Had the carbs off today to give them a good clean. Followed the DIY guide I downloaded and opened out the 2mm hole in the diaphragms to 2.5mm and raised the needles from .5mm to 1mm as suggested by the guide.
All went very well until it came to putting the throttle cables on. What a pain. So I thought take the throttle off that might help. Glad I did as it's almost broke.

Also set the float hight to 7mm.
I did notice that the front 2 carb rubbers where loose very loose when I started. I'm thinking that this could have been the revving problem.

Took the chance on a cheep rear paddock stand off ebay.
But the spindle diameter was to large.
Sorted now. It's very handy having a lathe.
Just need to weld it up.

Stand is all welded up and works a treat.

Looks like a decent example has gone from one good home to another - what I like to see.. Hope you enjoy the rebuild as much as I did with mine and more importantly, riding the little terror!

Re: My 1993 NC30 progress and upgrades
New throttle cables came today
Got tomorrow off work to get them fitted and put the fairing on and should be good for a proper good ride out on Sunday.
I'm going to hook up the gopro and record the first proper run out. Fingers crossed it all goes right.
