New member with an nc30 project
Hi everyone
So ive been searching for an nc30 for ages, ive looked at a few lately but it seems like a bike people try to cash in on. i viewed one last month but i turned up to find it was little more than a £3k priced box of bits
But then last week this '93 type 8 came up for sale...
*
it has the makings of a cracking bike. on the most part its in quite tidy condition, it just needs a lot of tlc... theres bodywork damage on the right side with several cracks and the nose cone is faded from red into brown. The wheels are badly corroded, brakes are binding thanks to rusty rotors, it has surface rust in other places, and like a barn find its filthy and has that green shit growing on it ...mechanically though its superb, its recently had all new plugs a new battery, and a new rect/reg.
Heres a few pictures taken once i had the bike at home. Its looking sorry for itself, but i should start work on it this week!
it has a nice orange nose cone full of cracks, that needs to be repaired. looks like that cracked mirror will have to go as well, and it needs all new bolts
Will have to do something about that seat as well....
yeah its been down the road, but its repairable
Mildue and rust... nice
both wheels will need to be powder coated, the pitting on these is pretty bad... no doubt they should be black, the silencer also needs to go. its too big for a little bike and doesnt look great either

Personally I think you've made the best choice in buying a VFR400R, they are a joy to ride, sound exceptional and are so over engineered you just have to love them, I've said before and I think it's true, you'll never again see a small capacity bike built to the standards and quality as the bikes where.

£190 though! Must be able to get a cheaper one than that... To buy one in any colour and have it repainted with the rest of the bodywork that needs doing might be a better/cheaper option

Can your fairing not be repaired?

Re: New member with an nc30 project
the nose cone would be tricky because its broke where the two panels lug tightly together so theres no space behind the panel for a fibreglass repair. Finding a new one would be the better option annoyinglyTimon wrote:Can your fairing not be repaired?
