Old OEM stock from USA. Was pretty cheap to get them shipped to NZ. $40NZD it worked out to be.

Replaced the forks and put the front end together....only to discover the triple trees are twisted!! Damn. More parts required....more ordering....more waiting...

Fork tubes are a nuisance aye?! Someone told me it's the acid from Bug guts that causes the pitting on the fork tubes? Biggest problem around here is that you just can't find any chromers nearby. Is a dying trade apparently!

I saw a guy on here purchased a set of BRAND NEW NC29 carbs a while back on eBay. SOOOOOO jealous. The moral is....keep looking mate....bound to find some new tubes eventually. ;)

Setback# 6492......

Replacement triple trees arrived from a bike wreckers....and are off an NC29!

In case anyone has wondered what the difference is....the NC23 triple tree has a longer stem, the top yoke is different too as the ignition bolts to it but on the NC29 there is a hole in the yoke, the bottom yoke on the NC23 has a hole in it for the brake hose to pass through and finally the horn attaches to a different point!

My bike now has no front end on it and I haven't been able to source a replacement. Damn.

Right. So one of the 400GB members has become a God and provided me with literally everything I needed to get my NC23 straightened out!! :rocks:

I now just have to find the time to fit everything back onto the bike...starting with the triple trees and forks.

I still need to buy fairings, as I don't think the old ones are repairable....but I might TRY to glass them up 1st and see how I get on??? Will keep this thread updated as I progress.

How bad are the fairings as its surprising what can be repaired
