Keep forgetting to update this so....

Carbs have been sent off for cleaning and service but not before fitting the Vance and Hines just for my own piece of mind the bike runs...and run it does.

So next is all tape off the loom to strip out the road crap that I'll never need.

I'm slowly gathering parts for this...

Now have a 29 swingarm and custom linkage to go in
CBR6 shock that will do for now
Digi dash
Carbs have been ultrasonically cleaned
New carb rubbers...

So I guess refit the loom and test fit carbs just to get the bike running from a bottle
test fit the swingarm
remove it all again clean it all up and fit it all properly

Need to send a couple of bits to the powedercoaters as well..

Erm I fucked up the loom and now the bike has no spark lol.

I'm saving to go away to Asia so have no spare cash to spend on the bike so everything I'm doing needs to be free.

So other than breaking the electrics I've fitted the 29 gull arm and that's worked out really well.

So having given up on the electrics for now I thought I'd have a look at tank options as I know the standard 23 tank won't fit over the 600 airbox, this is how the bike looks with the modern blade tank cover and I think it looks ok

Image

and it works with lines of the bike when lined up with the mounting holes in the subframe

Image

but when I fit the seat it's at a really aggressive angle and doesn't seem to mate up to the tank properly and looks as though there are some bits of trim missing.

Image

Image

using the cover would also necessitate getting someone to fabricate a funky little fuel cell which if I am honest I like the sound of but I imaging won't come cheap

the other option is smash the fuck out of the underside of the standard 23 tank which as you can see will require a fair amount of bashing.

im trying to find stuff that's free to do on the bike and one is make a backplate for the digi dash, can someone tell me if this bracket is up the right way?

Think you might have to re-do the subframe bracket lol.
Could you make the underside of the tank to be the airbox lid, like on the BDK fzr400 set up ?
Swingarm looks spot on. 8-)

If the subframe and tank didn't fit together properly they wouldn't match up flush at the mounting holes

If the bracket that's holding the subframe to mainframe could be altered (re-made) slightly to allow the back of the tank to sit flush on the frame and change the angle of the seat I think that would look pretty sweet

I'm pretty sure that the clock bracket is upside down
