my new rvf track bike

Post by marcus57 » Fri Mar 27, 2015 9:48 pm

As you've probably seen I've been looking for a decent 35 to use as the base for my next build for a while , a few decent ones have come up but I was either to slow or the were more than I could afford at the time .

I spotted fontyyys bike for sale over on pb , after a quick phone call the deal was done , he even delivered it to me . Top chap and it was as described .

I've started stripping it down and fitting the bits I have collected , I want to go over it more but I need to get the bits I'm not keeping off and sold to get some money back in the bank.

This was roughly how it look when it was delivered

Image

The first thing I did was to strip the front end off and make a start with what I have .
New headrace bearings , tyga yokes , ses bars , maxton worked forks , pfm callipers , pfm discs , braided lines , Ali bracket etc

I also swapped the rads over for my tidy rlr/radtec items and I'm waiting on some new samcos and clips to be delivered.

As I say I want to give the bike some proper tlc but I'm tight on space and need to get some cash back in the bank.

I'd like to get it back on its wheels tomorrow and have it outside for a decent scrub and wash down .

I want to get a nicer rear disc at some point , I also need a rear caliper with 84mm centres to bolt up to the tyga hanger , once I've started selling a few bits I should be able to buy one .

Tidy bike!
All rear Brembos are 84mm centres except for the tiny versions that were on 125cc bikes. You can pick them up new for less than $100. Of course there are lots of idiots on eBay selling 2nd hand ones for more.

Thanks , the front brakes may be a little over the top but I think they look fantastic , I really wanted a set of the race brembos but I'm not a fan of using brackets as I don't like the look of them .

I've spent a little while looking at different rear calipers but I'm going to hold out for a little while and get something fancy to go with the rest of the bike .

I have a few more bits to fit such as a BMC lightweight tank , rick o subframe and screen brace , brembo cable clutch leaver etc .

I was hoping to throw it together and get a couple of track days done this year but I'm going to get it right before I do , I can also use my gsxr a few more times and make my mind up on whether that's staying or going .

Rick Oliver subframe , screen brace and samcos arrived today .
Got the subframe on and swapped over to my corece rearsets

The anodising on the rearsets doesn't look as bad in the flesh but I'm tempted to have a go at stripping it off .
