Has been a while for me on here, after photobucket destroyed all my threads you can blame me right?!

So I the silhouette bodywork doesn't fit the side infill panels too well at all but I wasn't about to cut up a set of originals.
So I got some carbon ones, here they are on the other bike for their trail fit.
Forgot to take an after pic but you get the idea.

Got gathered up this bunch of parts, RC30 rear brake torque arm. Thanks for your help Rick O!

This is one amazing build! The level of detail is incredible - my hat is off. The idea of zinc plating the rear exhaust manifold is definitely one I will be doing - was there any special requirements in terms of cleaning / removing carbon build up before plating? Also, what satin black paint did you use for the engine?

Don’t zinc coat your exhaust manifold. I was warned not to do it but tried it anyway. The zinc doesn’t do well with the heat and burns off very quickly. I had to take it off and paint it in high temp paint.

I’m afraid I can’t remember what paint it was, think it was by VHT

Thanks Timon, safe to say I haven’t got too far and the manifold has not been plated.. phew.

For the speedo fascia change, is there a knack to removing to the speedo hand, or anything else for that matter?

I notice you soda blast your parts before sending to the platers - I remember you mentioning star anodising, is that a requirement or do you prefer to save cleaning job for yourself before sending it off?

The needle is just a press fit but it takes a bit of force to get off with your fingers.

Move the needle round to 80kmph and mark/note down something on the internal gears etc. Get the needle and face off, new face on, move the internals to your mark/note, hold and press the needle to the 50mph postion.

Yes I blast all steel parts before getting them zinc coated, a lot of places wont do this or do much clean up at all for that matter.

Dont blast aluminium parts before anodising, they will come out with a matt finish if you do.

Awesome - thanks for the insightful info as usual. Just realised I misplaced my rubber mounts for the speedo bracket.. joys. One other thing, the brass/torque arm spacers, are they custom made from RO and same dimensions as original nc30?
