I'd got my numbers wrong, the bike has actually done 2000Km since it was rebuilt .
I bought new oil (Rock oil Guardian semi 10/40) and a filter (Hiflo Filtro) as I've been threatening to for the last few weeks so after a good blast out this morning, I returned home and serviced the bike. All went smoothly and I'm happy to report the old oil had no bits, metal flake or any nasty surprises - it was still reasonably clear / clean too.
I appreciate that 1200 miles is a very short interval but I wanted to make sure all was well with the engine but having proved itself, I'll return it to it's usual ~4000 mile / less than 12 month changes..

I'll take a pic tomorrow but I modified the v-piece with mesh to aid ar flow across the lower rad as it had been getting a little too warm for comfort in town since it was rebuilt. I thrashed it home the twisty way (as ever!) but then made a point to sit in the traffic rather than push my way through keeping a close eye on my temp guage. I'm glad to report it never strayed much beyond 90 and when it did, the fan chimed in quickly reduced the temp far more effectively.
As a side point, I was a little concerned about how tired my lower rad looked (especially as it's not that old) but the bike is cooling well and doesn't loose any coolant so i'll leave it as is for now. Chinese replacements are cheap - it's whats on the bike now - so if it does eventually fail it's not a financial killer.. It does however, look much better than the O/E one I took off as that was pure rot and had the consistancy of a jacobs cracker.. !

Electrical gremlins showed their ugly head today when I thought the starter seemed slow and the lights were dimming on load which was unusual.
It seems that I'd dropped a phase on the genny but further investigation showed a rubbed-through yellow wire on the connector between the reg-rec and generator. Some new wire, solder and tape later and we have 14.45v @ 5000 rpm rather than the 10.75v.
All sorted now!

Reg-rec woes..
I'm heading to the Nurburgring on it in September so I'm gonna stand it down for a month to replace the reg-rec, have some new 090s fitted and install a new rear shock.

New reg-rec ordered on Sunday and it arrived today so I've fitted and tested it. All good now!

Made a spacer plate for my rear shock for a little added preload as it's felt a little soft recently. I've had to tweak the damping to compensate and havent tried it in anger but some static sitting and doinging have it feeling about where I want it..
