I've had quite a big problem with my bike recently to find my alternator is kickin out a whopping 2volts lmao time to ring Mr Graeme France lol but bike is looking nice mate :D

A nice package arrived today from the infamous Rick Oliver, top guy he is



Pilot jets #35's
Main jets 120f, 122r
Carb screw kit
Float bowl seals
Throttle cables
Valve shims
And a HRC coolant header bottle

Didn't get much done today as after work this morning I went to see The Hobbit with the GF. Awesome film.

But tonight when I got home I did get at my carbs, the dirty things.



Both washers removed from under all needles as advised by Rick O.



Honda's cottage cheese screws replaced for some shiny allen head bolts



Float bowls was next. Pilots changed to #35's, front mains to 120 and rear to 122 with new float bowl seals to replace the very past it and caked in goo old ones. Plus some shiny allen head bolts too.









That's the work done for tonight as I now have a headache from the smelly carbs being in my room

Tomorrow should see the bike back together, if my cager lesson doesn't interrupt too much....

Yesterday turned out well, managed to get nearly all day in the garage as my driving instructor cancelled my lesson...

Firstly I stuck my RVF rubbers into some petrol for a good soak to get them a bit softer.



Then got stuck into swapping the valve shims, fiddly little buggers.





New timing cover o-ring.



On with the top rad, back in with the plug caps, in popped the front mudguard with some stainless bolts to replace the rusty old ones, and with some fiddling the front wheel found its way back in too.









Quick trip to the local autoshop later for a few last things.



Tap a chainguard mount that I had to drill out due to an extremely stuck bolt and fit my HRC overflow







Then it was on with the carbs, much easier with the RVF rubbers, but the throttle cables were a pig as usual.

Then it was playing up, not idling right and dying, which tonight I solved by turning the pilot screws a quarter turn back in each
Yet I still don't see how it ran before.....

Specs so far are:

Frame, suspension, wheels and bodywork = Standard apart from RVF suspension linkages and fibreglass bodywork but standard shape.

Brakes = Standard calipers and mastercylinders, Hel braided brake lines.

Cooling system = Geoff's replacement rads, black Samco hoses and stainless clips.

Lights = Sidelights changed to Angel eyes, tail light is a LED unit.

Engine, carbs, exhaust and charging system = GSXR alternator, Lithium Ion lightweight battery, big chunky aftermarket reg/rec, all charging system wiring replaced and route shortened, Ethos half system, standard intake, carb settings: 35 pilots, mains are 120f 122r, no shims under the needles.



Plans for next winter/whenever I can get the cash are:

Nitron rear shock
RO Fork kit
Powdercoat wheels and fork lowers
Spray front calipers and discs
New tyres, maybe bt090's if I can get them, or use the RVF rear I have sitting in my room and stick some supercorsa's on.


I also made a bracket to hold my stands as Dad keeps moaning that they get in the way



I have a video which is taking an age to upload, and shall post that tomorrow

Only things left are to space the sidestand over to stop it hitting the exhaust and get the shift lever adjusted properly as I currently have trouble finding the thing with my foot......

And you are running the stock airbox with 120/122 jets? Lemme know how that goes... I am thinking of doing the same.
