Cheers for the link. I've ordered a pair so I'll let you know what they're like.

Good man.

On another note;
I got a 2TK ally subframe last week; £9.50 in a badly listed auction.

One simply has to hoard spares for these now.

Are you going for the NRC starter cover eventually ?

I know what you mean about collecting parts, I've been doing it for years with the Bimotas, in fact I bought the YB6 just for the swingarm but it's too nice to break.

Not sure about the NRC cover for the other side, tbh I'd prefer a standard cover on the LHS if I could of got one.

The mirrors have arrived, they are the correct shape but the mounting holes are wrong. This set has a single bolt in the centre of the mount, wheras the FZR has a two bolt setup.

That''s a pisser about the mirrors Lam !

If you wait ; a proper generator cover will surface.

Did you see the 2TK parts manual up at auction ?
The bloke has a 3EN2 one also; bloody typical , I paid a fair bit for both of mine a year or so back.

I was bidding on the parts manual but my kebab turned up just before the auction end. Had to get my priorities sorted, so the kebab was eaten!

Video from cadwell on the FZR, for the first half a lap I'm behind an RD350, managed to get around him going around Barn, onto the start straight. The secound lap got behind a kwak until I got past him at Barn as well.I was in the novice group, next time I'd like to go in a faster group as every lap I got stuck behind someone slower, I found it's hard to get past safely around the outside at cadwell.

Also the VFR has some new clothes.

I was hoping you got the parts book !
Fact I was gonna bid on it if it was less than a £10 (as a second one ; hoarding again)
I did get the 3EN2 one (to use as a workshop copy) and the even rarer FZ400 one he also had up {£3 each; you don't let them by at that price! }

A good time was had by all at Cadwell by accounts.

Will now peruse your vid.

Right then, what's been happening lately.

I bought a tank and stripped it ready for painting to match the new fairings on the VFR.
Image

I used paint stripper to get to this stage, then put it in our glass bead blasting cabinet and it came up a treat. Now need to spray a primer and top coat, etc
Image

The FZR was still without mirrors so I jumped onto Yahoo japan and found an old set that I might be able to recover. I signed up to an agent and ordered the mirrors, and a couple of other bits for the Bimotas, and this.....

Image

Not sure whether to put the Micron can, that is on my FZR, onto my YB7 so it matches the Micron on the YB4. Then put this Alpha racing system on the FZR..?

A friend that owns the other YB7 (with a 600cc engine fitted) unfortunately was involved in an accident and the little YB7 has been written off. I bought most of the bike off him as spares. This includes a fully restored Ohlins rear shock, I wonder if this would fit anything else, also a set of mirrors that I need for the FZR (result!!), etc

One box of goodies..

So, I now have a working 600cc Yamaha engine spare, and a none working FZR400 engine. A guy at work has suggested we build a Kart....... sounds like a good plan but I don't have time to do all the projects I have now.
