Choke Slide Broken at Carb - Repair??

Post by hutchy » Sat Jun 13, 2020 11:15 am

I went to start my bike up last night, give it some choke and all the tension disappeared.

Had a look at the carb end and the plastic slide that is pulled by the choke cable has snapped due to brittle plastic.

Is there a temporary repair for this or a replacement part available? Also, what is the process for doing this?

Thanks in advance

It’s a 1993 GSXR 400 GK76a, standard carbs

That looks exactly right, thanks.

Looking at that, does that simply clip on?

Thanks

If it's the same as the early models it slides in. Hopefully someone with a GK76A will chime in.

Yes, mechannibalism is correct.
The plastic bracket just clips onto the metal slide bar.
I bought a brand new one when I rebuilt my bike, but I kept the old one as a spare.
You can buy it off me if you want it hutchy? It's a bit battered and discoloured, but it would still work.
Let me know.
