It should be a simple fix, worth tracing where the fault is with the meter, and strip back the loom. There may be a Suzuki crimp somewhere underneath the loom tape that is loose, or just a dodgy connector.

Hi Mofo.
All sorted!
I did just what you suggested 1st thing this morning as it was playing on mind. Must be a mindreader! ;)
I just stripped the wiring loom back and tested the positive wiring for the fans.
Found out that the whole cable is duff.
No circuit whatsoever, which is weird because there isn't any clear break or damage to it.
1st image is the duff cable, 2nd image is another cable that I'll rewire while I'm sorting the loom because it's a right mess!

I have a mad fault. If you decelerate hard my horn goes off!! 30 years and Suzuki looms = Electrical chaos.

Just buy a new loom.
They're only £150 on eBay!
Imagine that. A nice spanky new loom in your bike.
Mmmmmmmm.....
