GK73/78 compatibility

Post by chrisk8226 » Sat Jul 29, 2017 4:43 am

A long shot, but does anyone know if the valves from a GK78 (RF400 1992) are the same as the ones in a GK73 i.e. 81mm length, inlet 20mm ex 22mm? I have access to some new ones but need to know they fit!

Sorry can't give you a definite but I believe the rf used the bandit motor.

Like I say don't take this as correct.

It was produced from 93 so will be a 53 hp engine and from about 96 was vvc only that used a shim style valve adjustment.

Can you not get a part number from the supplier, simple Google check then.

Cheers, thanks mate. I suspect they are the same but these are an aftermarket valve out of China so no part #'s to match up with  . A couple of the racers here have been using the Chinese ones in their Honda and Yamaha historic race bikes with good results and they are about 1/8th the cost of the genuine article!

RF400 is RF600 frame adapted to host Bandit 400 internals
