Tachometer wiring GK76A
Hi
It is actually something unusual as nice weather in northwest of Norway so I want to fix my tachometer with as little dissasembly as possible. I have measured resistance on the wire from the CDI to the tachometer and have no connection so I guess the poor contact is from the connection point to the coil branch.
My question is where is that connection (same wire goes to one coil) and what do I have to disassembly to find that connection?

It's probably a soldered joint in the wiring loom, unlikely to have failed but you could cut the tape with a sharp knife and have a look. Or it might go straight to the coil plug connection.
Buy some self amalgamating tape to repair it with after.

But do you know where the joint is located? The wire also goes to one coil.
I have measured the wire from CDI to tachometer and have no contact. When I was pulling a bit on the cable, tacho started working but only for a few minutes.
Coil plug is underneath gasoiline tank? I bought my bike with recent service when it had run 22 000km and now it has run 25 000km so I haven't been doint any maintenence except oil change.

If you don't want to hack the harness to find the fault...bridge into the tacho and the coil and run an auxillary wire.
No -one is going to know exactly at what point in the harness the joint is located hence cannot state exactly what needs to be removed to access.
You will certainly need to remove the seat unit to remove the tank to access the coils..its a simple operation.
You may need to remove the nosecone fairing to access the instrument cluster.

Thanks for reply. I was hoping for a branch/joint as a known point but I will remove the tank and install a new wire.

Its usually at a connection (corrosion) or a brake in the wire where it bends at the headstock.
Check the connection at the clocks first.

Pulled new wire from CDI to tacho and it is working now.
