Mmmmmm, now its getting confusing,maybe later or earlier years had different oil volumes. Are the cases that you have got the deeper dish like in my picture?Marsbar wrote:just got back in, both engines and spare case i have all say 2900 :/ surely i carnt have 3 SP engines, as i was told the "new" engine i put in from the bay was a 1993, and they were restricted.

Hi Andy,
You can never be sure the cases are original as they get damaged.
People fit 73a and bandit4, all having different sumps that will take different amounts of oil.

I have two S.P.'s on '90 plates (RL models) both have 2900ml covers. I also have a non S.P. of the same year, 1990 and it has 2500ml on the case.

Re: Lets try again!!
Update;
Found time to do a little more on the bike,more on the body although i still have a lot more to do yet! Undertray half completed,i cut it out due to access issues (rear light) but it seems to be coming together again slowly.
Made a nice short torque arm for the rear caliper but it is too long must have drunk more guinness than i thought that evening....
Also i hid the brake line inside the swingarm.
Shaped the bodywork around the side stand,pity it`s got to be on there but need`s must.
Also halfway through making a seat and finishing the air-box off. Waiting for Ti bolts for suspension linkage,flatslide`s to sort and fit the motor is`nt finished yet either....think it will be another two years yet.
