cam chain

can any one tell when changing the cam chain are you useing split chains or endless an how best to go about it .

Hi Jim, Depends if there is a split chain replacement as to if you go one way or the other. Ive never used a linked chain so cannot say how good they are but with a split chain there is less work involved as you may get away with only taking the cams out, at the extreme you would have to take the block off. With a one peice chain you got to split the complete motor as the chain is in the middle and the cranks goto come out. Ive heard sob storys about the split chains but that maybe more to do with bad fittment than the chain so its your call.
