GSX1000 suspension upgrade on zxr400 L9

So after my first Project bike cbr400rr got rear ended only a couple of weeks ago after being on the road for three weeks I picked up a Zxr400 for a great price. So it's a bigger bike although its ride height feels lower. I have obtained a gsxr1000 ohlns shock on the bay for a good price but I wondered if anyone else had found a way to raise the bikes height more. My cbr had the 600rr rear shock conversion so the ride height was great for my 5'10 90kg frame. But I want to raise the zxr to the same height and make it more stable for my.weight. I have brought the rear shock pre load up to 4 already. But thought there maybe something else I could do to raise the bike.

Also I wanted to change the rear sproket to get more acceleration. Wondered what ratios people had had some luck with.

Thanks M

When you say you brought rear shock preload upto 4 do you mean the adjuster at the bottom of shock?as this is rebound adjuster(controls how fast the shock returns after being compressed)preload is adjusted by the locking rings at top of shock body(threads)adjusting the 4 stage rebound won't raise/lower the bike!!

Id imagine when he said he had upped the rear shock preload by 4 he meant the preload and not comp or rebound, not entirely sure why you thought he was adjusting the rebound :?

Regardless more preload wont make it sit higher but will reduce sag when sat on. Im not sure how the ZXR is setup but spacers under the shock mounts or shorter tie arms will raise the height a bit. Does the GSXR shock fit straight in then? spring rates and length roughly the same?
