Yes that’s the stock swing arm the hugger is carbon and like paper thin, I have a few huggers including the fibreglass mould and I think an original one.

I don’t think I will be able to talk to the engine builder. I can speak with the cam and ignition guys as they still exist, it seems there are 3 maps switchable from the left handlebar.
The rest I will look into if and when I strip the engine. I’m quite keen to get it running before I decide which way to go. Hopefully it will run sweet and I won’t need to touch it other than oil, brakes , tyres etc. I see the mice have been chewing in the HT leads...

How much of a mess have the mice left?

Just a few chunks of silicon, nothing a set of new leads won’t sort.

I’m tempted to get started on it but I want to finish my gpz500 project first. It’s nearly there, should be on the road next week

Ok so I’ve started some work on this. First job is to get it running. As you can see the carbs are in a state. 25 year old fuel isn’t the easiest to remove but got them pretty tidy with a fine brass wire brush and carb cleaner. Already can see there’s a nice job done on the inlet ports, a bit of enlargement and brush finished.
