Re: FZR400 fork will fit on a XJR?
by the way, what those codes refer to?
I mean, where can I find them written and explained?
So to know for example what code my fork is

BTW - Yamahas have a model code and we usually use them to refer to a bike ... "it's a 3en2" or a 2TK etc. Yours will have a code too, usually the CDI will have it on the sticker.

Re: FZR400 fork will fit on a XJR?
XJR400 model codes begin with 4HM and then either a single number 1-9 or single letter A-F (I think it's F?) to denote the model year.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

I didn't understand those codes refer to the motorbikes. I though they were the codes for the forks.

yes, XJR is 4HM. not sure what's mine, probabile 4HM-01...

Re: FZR400 fork will fit on a XJR?
I took some measurements:
fork leght about 76cm
the pitch is 190mm
the discs are 290-300mm (not easy to measure them properly while fitted on the wheel, but I guess it's pretty clear they are not 282, so I assume they are 298)
the rim is 96mm thick, which equals to 3.7inches, so I guess it's a 3.5
last, but not least, I took some pictures
is there any other measurement I can take to identify the fork?

Don't know about the fork
The wheel will have markings on one of the spokes that will give the dia and width.

It looks like a 3TJ wheel spindle, and the mudguard mounts look very similar to the TRX850 and TZR250 3MA. Thinking about it, the forks might be the same as the 3MA- they're 41mm and use an 83mm (four pot) caliper.

so maybe also the SZR660 has the same fork...
I was sure the caliper pitch was 85 but it may be 83. i will check tomorrow
