tyre edge
just put a 150/60/18 on the back and a 120/60/17 on the front (bt010)
noticed last night when i got home that i have been right to the edge of the front tyre but still got 1/2cm left to go on the back?
is this normal as i 4t it would be the same on both
prev had a 110 front and 140 back and both of them was even
got 2 new 150's and 2 new 120's for £130 (end of stock clearance) this cheap how could i say no lol

Re: tyre edge
Because you've put a 120 on a wheel intended for a 110 the profile has changed, it's a bit higher than it should be, you'll notice your speedo is wrong too. The 1WG front wheel is 3" whereas the the TJ is 3.5" and it's a similar thing with the rear. This changes the angle of the tyre at the edge meaning your less lickley to get the bike right over, you'll deck the pegs and pipe on normal rubber anyway.
If your road riding then it's not so clever to want to get to the very edge of your tyres (you could be hanging off anyway) if you get that close you have nothing in reserve and your f@cked if it all goes wrong. Better to arrive a minute later and intact.

Re: tyre edge
It's not that i want to get to the edge just woundered why it was at the edge on the front and not the back
and as for the speed no change that i have noticed same speed as my bros clock when riding next to him.
not off to track the bike just use it for ride outs and to get to work on with weather like this

Re: tyre edge
i got to the edge of the front of my (correctly sized) alpha 10's before i got to the edge of the rear .. infact i havent got there, still have a 3mm strip, but the front is bobbled all the way over .. this was on track.
think its just the way some tyres are, 090's are the other way, got to the edge of the back and still had 5mm+ of front tyre left.
