When I say offset I mean distance between where the disc mount to the wheel & the area the pads touch.

I know, and I meant to say that the offset is 10mm. (typo)

So do any FZR400's have 282 or 285mm dia flat (no offset)discs?

Only the '87 FZR400's have flat disks.

Try this ... I think it's a genesis made in 1896 & 87

Yup, the '86 you see in that post was also made in '87, was the mass produced model. The '87 FZR400RSP pictured there was only made as a limited edition.

The model years vary per country. That site is based on the Japanese introduction years. For euro-models the models didnt apear until (usually) a year later. Therefore it is very rare to find an euro '86 FZR400 that wasnt imported from Japan. The Americans never got further than the 1WG which was imported till '89 i think.

But anyway, the '86/'87 models have flatdisks.
