Without specific information I'd set it up on the 1WG Genesis.

If anyone is after a copy of the 3tj kit manual shoot me a PM or email (include your email) and I'll send you a copy. This is not a service manual, it lists the factory race upgrade parts(YEC) and how to install them.

Edit: Here is a direct link to the manual https://www.scribd.com/doc/294476038/Ya ... Manual-3tj

There's one for an SP that knocks around on a cd but the scans are a bit course.
There's a service manual on the front page of Greybike http://www.400greybike.com/docs.htm

You cannot download but for online parts books. Covers 6 models from the 3TJ1.

I have a 1988 FZR 400 3en1 but i can't find a manual for it... Even Yamaha said they didn't have one - apart from in Japanese... What model was it most like??

Bit of a tricky one;
Its a bit of a lot of things.
Most you can spot straight away just by visual comparison.

1Wg Genesis ....http://www.fzrarchives.com/ipb/index.ph ... opic=36294
2TK (no English manual)
3EN2 (Ditto)

The Fzr 600 3he (early models) have a lot of similarities with a 3EN1.
The Clymer manual has an excellent overview and is very good for beginners.
You can ask for specific settings/tolerences in the Workshop section; someone will know !
Avoid the Haynes 600 manual.
