Hello old friends
Well it has been a while since I have been on here and a heap has happen in the mean time. I am still working on my old bike and it has been purring and not missing a beat.
I have been a bit slack with doing improvements and just focused on maintenance.
I have some new dynatec coils gathering dust which need installing. So am starting on an ignition overhaul.
A am looking for a source for Bosh BIP373 transistors to replace the OEM TCI transistor , (if you know of an equivalent).
After market spark plug caps some refer to them as boots (NGK product code would help me heaps)
THanks in advance.

Hello again
If you fit dynamic coils you need HT leads for them too ... you can get them with the plug caps already on and it's probably best to buy them like that. You might also find the caps need the screw on tops to the plugs.
Might be easier to find anot her cdi unit than the transitors

Hi Evilchicken,
I know the original plug caps have a 10ohm resistor in them. I guess with the dynatec coils I don't need the same type of cap (with the resistor). As long as there physically fit and the lead is HT all should be good. Would you agree ?
My CDI is work fine, its just that while I am at it, changing the two drive transistor for new one would be proactive.

Yes, but it is 27 years old and like sands through the hour glass bit start to fall off eventually. But then again I took the top of my spare 400 cdi unit and I have to say not a sign of ageing, no dry joins or heat stress.Evilchicken0 wrote:The cdi is quite robust ... Leave it alone
