Some are.
Most are grey imports. So when they have mph clocks they're either rare official versions made rarer because most went straight to the track, or, they're grey with a mph speedo. If they the latter then hopefully somebody has got around the spped restriction properly

Do we reckon that the official 100 3TJ2 SP's that were imported used 4DX cdi's then?

1 am 99% sure that it is one of the 100 uk bikes. It has the 4dx CDI and the owner new the previous owner very well. He is certain it is a UK bike. I will try and find out it's official number , maybe Yamaha HQ could help me with that. Thanks for the input so far. Ps I have standard 3tj import as well and that really flies up to 130 no probs, so definitely derestricted.

Ive one of the original uk imported rrsp, it came with lots of little nice original bits, leather keyfob, keyring, stamped with number, certificate, stamped with frame number, plaque, with frame number etc, race kit box, original.

My bike is logged no.25 of 100, so essentially 25 south of my frame number is the start, and 75 north is the end of the official imports, i take it im right in saying that.

Was thinking of getting plaques remade, if anyone wanted it for an original bike, but i was given a quote at £200 to replicate it Ouch!

Still trying to find out the number of my RRSP. Would the frame or engine number be a clue? The engine no. is 1W1C1.
Cheers.

I think you'll have to ask Yamaha about it. Give them the frame and engine numbers.

Thanks mate, I've sent them an email. I'll put up a few more pics once I've done more with it.

Interesting, checked your frame no. Against my frame number and its way off.......
So yamaha didnt run them, in batches as in those 100 will be uk sp only!

Yours happened 879 frames before my bike,
I have certs, plaques etc to back up my frame number.

Why would yamaha do that?
Its stated the later two models of sps 3tj 6&7, only 500 of each,
But this model 3tj2 qty of 6700, 100 official uk imports.

Hope this assists,
The original box for the certs, handbooks etc, is labelled mitsui yamaha uk 1991

Thanks mate. all the more interesting. I will have to go and see a mate who runs the local Yamaha dealership who is a dictionary on FZR's LC'S etc. Hopefully he can help further.
