Plan B has just arrived, tank issues will no longer be an issue.

Carbs back from the rebuild, and I'm still having issues with them.

1) Only the #1 AP nozzle seems to actually work, no fuel out of the other 3.

2) Randomly hanging idle. With it set to 1600RPM it'll sometimes hang around 2800 to 3000RPM after a blip and just sit there. Other times it drops right to 1600RPM. Cables have proper slack, not sure what's going on there.

3) Idle is rougher than I'd like, smoothes right out with throttle, accepts throttle well, thinking sync is off?

Don't have time to really tear into them before this weekend so... she gets raced as is. CF tank is back from repair as well so it'll be acting as the primary. My steel tank still needs a wet sanding, another coat of black and then clear so it won't be ready in time.

Can you balance them with an air flow meter ?
You use this tool for Webber carbs, you hold it on the air intake and it spins the meter inside. You can balance the carbs and its quicker than a vacuum gauge

Short race weekend report: 3rd in ultra light superbike which is the bike's native class. 9th in light weight superbike vs SVs and TZ250s, super fun. Dropped my personal best by 3 seconds and am now solidly in Expert times territory.

Carbs are eyeball sync'd, idle is smoother, tank is reliably retaining precious hydrocarbons. Only two issues to sort now, randomly hanging open floats and a stumble at 12.5k RPM when wide open. Close the throttle a touch and it cleans up and screams past?

I've got a Carbtune 2 on the way to properly sync things, doubt that'll clean up the top end stumble but it's a start.

Now that I'm not fighting a suspension setup that's off in the weeds and the carbs are almost dialed in, it's not so much that I'm getting the hang of it, the bike just wants to go faster and I just get to tag along for the ride. My last race where I really dropped some time I didn't feel like I was pushing any harder, the bike and I just went out and got the job done. It's telling me there is more time to be dropped, I just have to trust the bike more and let it do it's thing.

In the mean time, it's been suggested I track down a set of 15mm high velocity stacks to replace my tall units, I'm not having any luck finding any locally. Any hiding over on your side of the pond? :D

BDK do 30mm, they're probably the ones you've got, you use flatslides ???
They do 20mm for CV's

You're probably better off looking for the Kelhin importer's website and getting in touch with them

The official US Keihin importer no longer has any interest in bringing in stuff for Keihin FCR racks, just the MX singles. They've got the tall blue plastic stacks like I've got now but I'd be curious to try a shorter set after talking with a couple former US FZR builders/racers. And yes, I've got a rack of FCR 32s or 33s, gotta pull the numbers off the side to be certain.

I was able to get a set of 30s from Japan. They arrived on the 3rd, I'm still waiting for an OEM parts order that was supposed to have arrived BEFORE the stacks... sheesh!
