Clock instrument bulbs - LED replacements

I am looking to replace the clock bulbs with LEDs. I trailed the internet and found that LED wedge bulbs come in various sizes, like T5, T6.5, T10. I wonder which ones to buy. The parts catalog of my CB400 FOUR NC36 says that I need:

1x 34908-GA7-701 (12V 3.4W)

7x 34902-750-003 (12V 1.7W)

Can anyone recommend me the equivalent LEDs?

Cheers, Mansie

I measured up the Honda bulb p/n 34902-750-003. It is 7 mm diameter at the filament bulb, but only 5 mm wide at the electric contacts. Length is 20 mm. T5 it is then. I will get these ones and see if they fit:

Have you fitted them yet?

They will be fine for the idiot lights, but the backlighting is no good with LED, as the light is too directional.

Top tip, b seriously careful with the screws which hold he case back panel on. It is so easy to strip the breads or crack the plastic. Just barely snug it, nothing more!!

I just fitted above T5 lights and they perform well.

Above lights sit in plastic enclosure which creates more diffuse ligh. My observation is that the bulb lights up homogeneous bright white. For the rev counter the lights shines through the white numbers and stripes of the dial. The speedo has an overlay sticker with mph fitted by the importer and is opaque. The light comes from the sides, mainly from the top where the light is. All in all the display is much brighter now. I thought that the original Honda bulbs were shot but they were just much dimmer. A few years of operation covers the glass inner with metal deposit from the filament.

Thanks, I avoided that pitfall.
Another tip with LEDs: they are diodes so they are sensitive to voltage polarity. If the light does not go on, take the bulb out and give it half a turn, then fit it again. Test the bulbs work before putting the clocks back into place.

I have used these LEDs for a few months now. One has gone very dim, the other shines intermittently very bright, then goes off for a while. Not impressed.
