88 cbr400rr nc23 no brake lights
So I just noticed today that I only have brake lights when I use the rear brake and not the front lever. Everything else works as it should, what's the best place to start figuring this out?

It,s more than likely the front brake light switch. You'll see wires running up to the master cylinder, it should be two spade connectors that pull off. If you touch them together the brake lights should come on which then points to the switch. It's still available from Honda or aftermarket. Oh, it's held on with a single screw(make sure you use the correct size screwdriver).

Good call on that, touched both spades together and the brake lights lit up. 35340MA5671 here's the part number for the switch if anyone is looking, I'll be ordering one today! Thank you!
