Nc23 k&n style air filters

Post by Dgeezer » Fri Jun 29, 2018 12:33 pm

Hi everyone
Does anybody know if you can fit a set of k&n style cone air filters on the nc23,after just taking the carbs off it doesn't look like a standard fit
Thanks in advance

Keep the airbox, you're entering into a whole world of pain otherwise. A good mod is to cut out the standard paper element and replace with filter foam. I've recently done it on a CB-1, have a look here viewtopic.php?f=62&t=54169&start=10

I plan on turning the bike into a streetfighter just for a change and need the room where the airbox is to relocate the battery and the rest of the wiring,it's not a performance mod I'm trying to do
Thanks

The bike won't run properly without the airbox. Your carbs are 'constant velocity', which means they need smooth air flow at all revs/throttle.
Consider using a lithium battery, as you can mount them sideways and thy come in many shapes/sizes.

If you're just trying to create space behind the tank for a battery why not bin the standard coils and do a stick coil conversion (CBR600 stick coils fit). You gain space, better spark generation & no carb issues - There are plenty of articles covering this conversion.
